Welcome to my website.
I’m Kendon Carrera, a freelance writer here at your disposal. I mainly write about business, tech, beer, and sports. However, I can produce diverse content for any industry or vertical.
I write articles according to your hopes and desires, but more importantly to suit your needs. If you want highly SEO-friendly content, I can do that. If you want a ponderous editorial, I can also do that.
If you can’t find examples of the type of writing you want, please contact me and I will send relevant writing samples.
How I produce high-quality freelance writing content
Experience and self-study have taught me several things about writing:
- Engaging freelancer writing is all about taking complex topics and making them easy to understand. Clear and concise writing is the key to understanding.
- Short-form content must be efficient and purpose-driven. It presents a simple solution for your readers that demands a call to action.
- My long-form content is centred around providing evidence to back up a thesis or answer a common question. It allows me to demonstrate your expertise and value to the reader.
- I believe that writing must be supported with facts, statistics, and links to industry authorities and regulatory bodies. I source recent data and studies for every article I produce.
- In a time when AI is threatening human creativity, it is important to maintain a human touch. While writing content for search engines, the audience is the priority, not Google crawlers.
- My writing style is friendly, authoritative, and analytical. I use prose to guide my readers to logical conclusions and beckon them to take action.
My background
I’ll start things off by apologising for any Americanisms—I was born there after all! Despite my failure at benign British, I’ve been living in the Southwest of the UK for over 10 years.
Writing wasn’t my first “career,” but it was one of my first passions. Growing up, I could be found writing poetry and short stories long into the wee hours of the night. I may have even won a competition or two.
Time for creative writing evaporated as soon as I embarked on a journey to become a medical doctor. After nearly seven years, I moved from Hawaii to Old Blighty, leaving the sun and bright future behind me.
After arriving on English shores, I became deeply involved with the booming craft beer industry. First, I stumbled my way into running a craft beer pub. Next, I brewed an ocean’s equivalent of unfined, hazy “modern real ale” in Bristol. After leaving the brewery, I stayed attached to the industry as a freelance brewing consultant.
After the Great Pandemic of 2020, I returned to writing with renewed vigour. Since then, I have been perpetually sharpening my pen (or keyboard), primed to write captivating copy that entertains, educates, and sells.
Where you can find me online
Here’s my LinkedIn Profile. I’m not always so active on the platform but maybe I will be one day.
Oh yeah, you can also find me on this blog.
My interests
Like many idealists, I like to read a lot of non-fiction. One week, it may be quantum mechanics. The next week, it’s universal basic income. I can also be found shamelessly diving into authors such as Graham Greene, Chuck Palahniuk, and Anthony Bourdain. I’m also an avid gamer and ignoring my responsibilities by way of Cyberpunk 2077.
I love playing sports when my body allows. When it won’t, being a spectator suffices. I also enjoy torturing myself by trying to play complicated songs on both 6- and 8-string electric guitars. Occasionally, you may find me mashing into a 20L stainless steel pot on a weekend—I did say I write about what I love!
